Issue Description:

I have installed windows 2012 server on one of my systems.  Everything seems to work fine except I can’t browse to or view my network shares from this system.  My network shares are accessible from other windows systems on the network.  

Solution:

Make sure the following windows services are set to automatic and started on the windows 2012 system:

• Computer Browser
• Function Discovery Resource Publication
• SSDP Discovery
• UPnP Device Host
• DNS Client
• Additionally if WINS is available in the environment make sure “TCP/IP over BIOS” is also enabled
