The computer viruses are spreads mainly through the removable media such as pen drive, portable hard-disk,floppy etc, and most widely through the internet.One of the ways by which a virus can infect your PC is through removable media(USB/Pen drives). Common viruses such as ’Ravmon.exe’ ,‘New Folder.exe’ etc.. are spreading widely through the USB drives. Most anti virus programs are unable to detect them and even if they do, in most cases they are unable to delete the file, only quarantine it. Here are the trick by which you can remove such viruses from your USB Drive.By using this trick we can delete the viruses only from removable media and not those viruses which come through the internet.

This trick is good for those users who don’t have any antivirus in their system or don’t have an internet connection to update their antivirus.

To delete these viruses follow these steps :-

1. First of all we require the WINRAR Archiver (Click to Download). which must be installed in your  system.

2.Now whenever you plug your removable media or USB drive (such as pen drive etc.) in your system.

A window will appear similar to the one shown below and Don’t click on ok, just choose ‘Cancel’.

3. Now don’t open your USB drive directly from My Computer.

• Create a “New Winrar Archive“ on your desktop. Open it.
• Now Browse for your Removable media through Winrar (As shown in the Video above).
• And identify the viruses in USB Drive.
• Mostly these computer viruses are of size less than 100 kb with an  extesion (.Exe, .Bat, .Com, .reg, .vbs ) and with an autorun.inf file. There is  list of some viruses given below.

1. Autorun.inf
2. Ravmon.exe
3. New Folder.exe
4. svchost.exe
5. virusremoval.vbs
6. Heap41a.exe…….and Etc….or any other exe file which may be suspicious.

• After identifying them just select them by mouse , and click on delete icon in winrar archive toolbar (or press delete+enter from keyboard).
• After deleting them you can open your removable media directly through the explorer (My Computer).

But there may be cases when you fall into a need to deal as an administrator on your system without having to fiddle with the UAC (USer Account Control), you can enable the built-in administrator account. This account is disabled by default, but can be enabled by following these instructions.

1. Using CMD:

First of all reach the command prompt in any way and Run it as an administrator

Follow these Steps:

1.  Start button –> All Programs –> Accessories —> Command Prompt

2.  Right-click on Command Prompt.

3.  Select Run as administrator.

4. When the UAC prompt appears, select Yes.

The Command window with the elevated command prompt will appear.

To enable the Windows 7 administrator account, execute the following at the command prompt:

net user administrator /active:yes

To disable the Window 7 administrator account, execute the following at the command prompt:

net user administrator /active:no

2.  using Local Security Policy editor

1. Open the Local Security Policy editor.

2. In the left pane, expand Local Policies, and click on Security Options. (See screenshot below)

3. In the right pane, right click on Accounts: Administrator account status and click on Properties. (See screenshot above)

4. To Enable the Hidden Built-In Administrator Account –
A) Select (dot) Enabled.

B) Go to step 6.
5. To Disable the Hidden Built-In Administrator Account –
A) Select (dot) Disabled.

6. Click on OK.

7. Close the Local Security Policy window. (See screenshot below step 2)

8. Log off, and you will now see the built-in Administrator account log on icon added (enabled) or removed (disabled) from the log on screen. (See screeenshot below)
NOTE: Click on the Administrator icon to log on to the built-in Administrator account.

3. Using Computer Management

1. Open Run (Using Window + R) and run dialog box will appear

2. Type compgmt.msc and hit enter.

3. Click on Local Users and groups and inside it click on the Users folder.

4. Right Click on Administrator and Click on Properties.

5. Uncheck the account is Disabled Check box.

6. Click on ok and close all windows opened.

PHP has established itself well enough to be one of the most Popular Web programming language. PHP needs to be optimized sometimes in order to get better optimization and speed enhancements.

While getting accessed, every page in PHP needs to First get parsed by Interpreter, followed by a conversion to an intermediary format called opcode. At last, it finally gets converted into machine code which is executed by the server’s CPU.

This process is acceptable for Some cycles. But If the same script is accessed 100 times these steps are repeated a 100 times. To avoid this repetition and waste of server resources you can use the Alternative PHP Cache or APC.

The Alternative PHP Cache (APC) is a free and open opcode cache for PHP. Its goal is to provide a free, open, and robust framework for caching and optimizing PHP intermediate code.

Installing APC

Installing APC is easy if you have PHP 5. These instructions are for a centos 5 system.  First su into your root account:
su –

Enter the root password at the prompt and then type this:
pecl install apc

If everything goes to plan you should see a successful APC installation.

If not then you may need to install some additional packages first:
yum install httpd-devel make

Configuration

Once APC is installed you need to configure it. Most centos installations have a /etc/php.d directory for per-extension PHP configuration files. If you find such a directory on your system then add the following code in a new file apc.ini in that directory. If not then add it into the php.ini file that is likely in /etc/ or /usr/local/lib/.

extension=apc.so
apc.enabled=1

APC uses what is called a shared memory segment to cache php scripts. This allows multiple processes to access the cache. You can configure how large that segment is in megabytes:
apc.shm_size=100

Check that apc is loaded by typing this in at the shell:
php -m

If you see apc in the list of php modules then you know apc is working. If you don’t then make sure that your extension_dir option in php.ini is set correctly.

To make APC cache web scripts you will need to reload apache:
service httpd reload

Copy the file apc.php from the php directory (either /usr/local/lib/php or /usr/share/php) to a web accessible directory. Accessing this file from the web will tell you some interesting statistics about apc.

Fine tuning APC

By default APC will cache every php file requested by visitors to your website. On a typical server you will have many thousands of source files. So if you monitor the output of apc.php you will find that with time even 100MB of memory is not sufficient for APC. It will keep running out of space as it tries to cache all the files.

To deal with this APC will swap out old files from the cache according to this setting which specifies the time to live in seconds of files that have not been accessed recently:
apc.ttl=1300
Selective caching

You may prefer to cache only some of the files such as those used by the most popular websites on the server. To do that you must first set this option:
apc.cache_by_default=0

Then specify a regular expression of the files you do want to cache:
apc.filters="+(example|verypopularsite|favourite\.php)"

The advantage of selective caching of only popular sites is that you can specify a smaller shared memory size and still reduce CPU load significantly.

APC is a great PECL extension written by some of the core developers of PHP. Its easy to install and configure and can reduce CPU load dramatically. In my experience it reduced peak CPU load from ~5 to 1.4 on a dual core system! I hope this guide helps you achieve similar CPU resource savings.
