For Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla Firefox and many others.
Many websites use simple scripts in order to prevent the selection of text and Right click on their pages. They think that using these encryption scripts are the best way to protect their intellectual property on the internet. We can see many websites which have the text selection disabled on their pages. So here we will share a small little trick to copy content from pages which have these “Save/ Protect My Webpage†scripts for their protection.
The technique goes as Follows,
Setting for Internet Explorer: The most common browser in the market.
Click “Tools”->”Internet Options”
Select the “Security” tab
Click on
“Custom Level”
Scroll down to the “Scripting” section
Select the radio button for “Active Scripting” as “disable”
Click “Ok” to apply the changes.
Refresh the page
Now you can very easily copy the content from the webpage using Internet Explorer.
For Opera,
In Opera, Its just a matter of two clicks.
From the Menu bar, Click Tools-> Quick Preferences (F12).
Uncheck the “Enable JavaScript†option.
Refresh the page if needed.
For Firefox,
Go to Tools –> Options
Select the content tab
Uncheck the ‘Enable JavaScript†option
Click Ok.
Refresh the page.
I have given example of three browsers, but we have the basic fundamental clear here. Just disable the scripts on the page. You can then copy the content you want by regular selection, right-clicking and cut/copy etc.
You must revert back to the option you disabled as JavaScript is useful in many ways and it should be enabled to get the most out of modern web 2.0 sites.
I also have the simplest of tricks. Don’t follow any of the techniques above and just refresh the page. Just copy the text quickly before the scripts is loaded. Text appears before scripts on a webpage. You can copy it even before the script is fully loaded and the page is in half refreshed condition.
Hope you liked it!
Thank you my brither for this nice post. God bless you.
