A best trick to delete a virus from removable media or USB drive.
The computer viruses are spreads mainly through the removable media such as pen drive, portable hard-disk,floppy etc, and most widely through the internet.One of the ways by which a virus can infect your PC is through removable media(USB/Pen drives). Common viruses such as ’Ravmon.exe’ ,‘New Folder.exe’ etc.. are spreading widely through the USB drives. Most anti virus programs are unable to detect them and even if they do, in most cases they are unable to delete the file, only quarantine it. Here are the trick by which you can remove such viruses from your USB Drive.By using this trick we can delete the viruses only from removable media and not those viruses which come through the internet.
This trick is good for those users who don’t have any antivirus in their system or don’t have an internet connection to update their antivirus.
To delete these viruses follow these steps :-
1. First of all we require the WINRAR Archiver (Click to Download). which must be installed in your system.
2.Now whenever you plug your removable media or USB drive (such as pen drive etc.) in your system.
A window will appear similar to the one shown below and Don’t click on ok, just choose ‘Cancel’.
3. Now don’t open your USB drive directly from My Computer.

The steps that used in video are give below:
- Create a “New Winrar Archive“ on your desktop. Open it.
- Now Browse for your Removable media through Winrar (As shown in the Video above).
- And identify the viruses in USB Drive.
- Mostly these computer viruses are of size less than 100 kb with an extesion (.Exe, .Bat, .Com, .reg, .vbs ) and with an autorun.inf file. There is list of some viruses given below.
- Autorun.inf
- Ravmon.exe
- New Folder.exe
- svchost.exe
- virusremoval.vbs
- Heap41a.exe…….and Etc….or any other exe file which may be suspicious.
- After identifying them just select them by mouse , and click on delete icon in winrar archive toolbar (or press delete+enter from keyboard).
- After deleting them you can open your removable media directly through the explorer (My Computer).
