A best trick to delete a virus from removable media or USB drive.

The computer viruses are spreads mainly through the removable media such as pen drive, portable hard-disk,floppy etc, and most widely through the internet. One of the ways by which a virus can infect your PC is through removable media(USB/Pen drives). Common viruses such as ’Ravmon.exe’ ,‘New Folder.exe’ etc.. are spreading widely through the USB drives. Most anti virus programs are unable to detect them and even if they do, in most cases they are unable to delete the file, only quarantine it. Here are the trick by which you can remove such viruses from your USB Drive.By using this trick we can delete the viruses only from removable media and not those viruses which come through the internet.

This trick is good for those users who don’t have any antivirus in their system or don’t have an internet connection to update their antivirus.

To delete these viruses follow these steps :-

1. First of all we require the WINRAR Archiver (Click to Download). which must be installed in your system.

2.Now whenever you plug your removable media or USB drive (such as pen drive etc.) in your system.

A window will appear similar to the one shown below and Don’t click on ok, just choose ‘Cancel’.

3. Now don’t open your USB drive directly from My Computer.

4. To delete viruses from USB drive watch out the video given below.

To delete Computer viruses watch this video:

OR–To watch this video on youtube.com. Click here.

The steps that used in video are give below:

Create a “New Winrar Archive“ on your desktop. Open it.

Now Browse for your Removable media through Winrar (As shown in the Video above).

And identify the viruses in USB Drive.

Mostly these computer viruses are of size less than 100 kb with an extesion (.Exe, .Bat, .Com, .reg, .vbs ) and with an autorun.inf file. There is list of some viruses given below.

Autorun.inf

Ravmon.exe

New Folder.exe

svchost.exe

virusremoval.vbs

Heap41a.exe…….and Etc….or any other exe file which may be suspicious.

After identifying them just select them by mouse , and click on delete icon in winrar archive toolbar (or press delete+enter from keyboard).

After deleting them you can open your removable media directly through the explorer (My Computer).

Enjoy it*****

RegRun Reanimator is a very useful Freeware Utility to remove Spyware, Adware and Trojans. The software is in the form of a wel directed Wizard which makes using the software a breeze for the users.

This software is a complete freeware which means it does not give any Nag screens or trail period Expiration issues.

RegRun Reanimator is Compatible with almost all commonly used versions of Microsoft Windows such as 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003/VISTA and even Newly released Windows 7 on October 22 2009

This software also gives a detailed system report to its users. If the users could not remove virus or don’t know whether a file is a virus or not, they can simply follow the following steps.

Create detailed system report (regrunlog.txt).

Open Reanimator.exe, choose "Send Report".

We strongly recommend you to choose "Reboot" option because Greatis Software need to include information from Partizan driver collected during Windows boot process.

Detailed system report will be saved on your desktop.

Please, attach your regunlog.txt to the ticket

Do not post regrunlog.txt to the ticket message because the file is too large for message and it will be truncated.

Please, describe your problem with all details. It will help Greatis Software in resolving your problem quickly.

If you post the ticket with question: "I have a virus :. How can I remove it?", Greatis Software will always ask your detailed report. Do not make delays, send your report as soon as possible.

Here are the most simple fundamentals to remove malicious programs from the computer.

If you suspect that your computer is infected with a virus or other malicious software, remove it as soon as possible.

Unlike other software, malware can’t be completely removed using your operating system’s Add/Remove Programs feature. Some bits of malware may still be hiding on your hard drive, doing its damage behind the scenes. To get rid of malware, use software specifically designed to find and delete it.

Many solutions are available for ridding your computer of malicious software. You can find these programs by searching the Web for virus protection. Whatever software you choose, be sure to keep it up-to-date.

In some extreme cases, anti-virus programs may not be able to remove all malware. It may be necessary to reformat your hard drive and reinstall its operating system. If you’re using a laptop computer, installing the operating system from the partition backup may not completely remove malware. Instead, be sure to get installation disks for your operating system from your hardware vendor and use those to reinstall your operating system.

You can also use Hijackthis ( a tool that scans your system and generates a log of all suspicious services and exe that can be malware ) and then you can upload this log on any tech support forum online or send it to any of your Geeky friends for Help .

Hope that helped you with your  problems  .

Most of the time computer users have this tendency of accessing the Internet from different locations. Be it an Internet cafe, College Lab, or a friend’s house. Sometimes, sharing computers offers great convenience, but if you do not take extra precautions, you can also fall a victim of Information theft. So Hope the following points will help you protect your account and other personal information while using a shared or public computer system.

Do not check the “Remember my ID on this computer” box

Many sites, including Yahoo!, offer this option. When a computer “remembers” you, it usually sets a persistent cookie on the computer that allows the web site to identify you so you don’t have to sign in. If you check this option, you’ll remain signed in after you close your browser. This is a convenient option if you are the only user of a computer, but if you share a computer, do not check this option.

Never leave a computer unattended while signed-in

If someone uses the computer in your absence, they can easily access your account information.

Always sign out completely

If you use a public or shared computer, it’s especially important to sign out completely. Always click the “Sign Out” link when you are finished accessing your Yahoo! account.Clear the browser’s cache

The browser keeps a cache, containing a copy of web pages you visited. The cache may be stored on the computer’s local drive. Clearing the cache is simple, and will prevent subsequent computer users from viewing the sites you visited while online. See your browser’s help for details on how to clear the cache.

Keep an eye out for “shoulder surfers”

Use caution – sneaky thieves may try to watch your fingers as you type your password.

Avoid confidential transactions

Don’t use a public or shared computer to log in to a bank account or other online service that accesses confidential information. You should access these web sites only on a trusted computer.

Beware of spyware

Any computer that you do not personally control is hard to trust. It could have spyware, such as keystroke loggers, or other malicious software installed. Think about the precautions you would take on your own computer and consider if other computers have the same safeguards. If a computer is infected with spyware, even clearing the browser cache or closing the browser and opening it again will not protect you because spyware programs record everything you type.

Check with the computer’s owner or administrator before using it to find out what security precautions have been taken. Find out if anti-virus and anti-spyware software are installed, how often the computers are scanned for vulnerabilities, and whether security updates are current.

Never save passwords

Many web browsers and other programs will automatically offer to save passwords for you – do not use this feature on a shared computer!

Change your password often

If you use shared computers frequently, make a habit of changing your password often in case you use a computer that’s been compromised by spyware or malware. Be sure that you change your password only on a trusted (preferably non-shared) computer
